H.E PROF. JOYCE KAKURAMATSI KIKAFUNDA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF BANGLADESH

UGANDA’S HIGH COMMISSIONER TO BANGLADESH PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE HONOURABLE PRESIDENT OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF BANGLADESH, HIS EXCELLENCY MOHAMMED SHAHABUDDIN, 17TH OCTOBER 2024

 

Her Excellency Prof. Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda presented her Letter of Credence by which the President of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, appointed her as Uganda’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh to the Honourable President of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, His Excellency Mohammed Shahabuddin, on 17th October 2024. Her Excellency Prof. Joyce Kikafunda is Uganda’s High Commissioner to New Delhi, India and also accredited to Bangladesh, Sri-Lanka, Singapore, Maldives, Nepal and Bhutan.

 

In a colourful and well-choreographed ceremony, Her Excellency Prof. Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by the Special Security Force Regiment of the Bangladesh Army at the Office of the President, Bangabhaban in the capital, Dhaka. This was followed by the Presentation of her Letter of Credence and thereafter, to a one-on-one meeting with His Excellency President Mohammed Shahabuddin.

   

His Excellency the President warmly welcomed Uganda’s Non-Resident High Commissioner to Bangladesh and emphasised continuous   high level exchange of visits which in turn should be a precursor to deepening of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly nations through collaboration in sectors including Agriculture, Foreign Affairs, Defence, and waiver of visas for holders of Diplomatic/Official and Service Passports. The High Commissioner concurred with His Excellency the President and pledged to deepen the already good Bilateral Relations between the two countries. The High Commissioner invited Bangladesh to invest in Uganda’s Agro-Industry such as the cotton value chain to boost their Textile industry, Health especially pharmaceuticals, ICT, Education and share knowledge, experience and good lessons in different sectors for the mutual benefit of both countries
